I found an imaginative tale of a dragon which captured villager’s imagination in 1668 in Essex in the southeast corner of England. As the tale goes, the gentleman was riding along when he passed a birch forest and came across a sunning dragon. It reared its head and looked to be 9 feet in length from the long hissing tongue to tail. Small leathery wings were flapping. The villagers heard about it and worried that the dragon would attack their cattle. They went to look for it and quickly found it. However, the villagers didn’t attack but continued to go and observe it for months until one day it was gone.

Dragon’s blood is a pigment which comes from the East. Trees in the Dracaena genus produce a red resin when wounded-cut, poked, or scarred.

The imagination of this story is fun and ties into this peacock purple scarf which I created for strong, unique women to wear!
